Here's the F3/MudGear story (abbreviated)
Hey Brother!
You may have noticed that the F3 Gear Store is powered by MudGear. That's a business I started in 2012 that grew out of my F3 experience. Originally, OBT asked me to help distribute shirts from the back of his car. This quickly turned into taking the orders, collecting money, and sorting shirts all over my living room. My M was kind enough to allow that twice.
Guys kept wanting more shirts and gear with the F3 logo, and we quickly saw we needed to take steps to protect the integrity of the logo and properly manage sales taxes. We had big challenges to face with fast growth but a "Freed to Lead" spirit to keep building the road 43 feet ahead.
From day one, we have listened to and delivered F3 Nation's requests for top, name-brand apparel like Nike, Under Armour, and The North Face, all customized with F3 logos.
At the same time, I saw an opportunity to create my own MudGear-branded apparel line with race jerseys and compression socks built to appeal to F3 Nation and other outdoor adventure athletes everywhere. It was our MudGear Compression Socks that really struck a chord beyond F3 and throughout the Obstacle Course Racing community.
I quit my day job in 2016, after four years of building MudGear as a side hustle to pursue it full time. It was a leap of faith but a risk I knew I couldn't live with not taking. |
