Friday Night

TGIF!

oh man...and it's a 3 day weekend thanks to Memorial Day that is celebrated on Monday.
Well at least the work day did go by fast for me (isaac) and Amy went into work late and got off early. luck duck!

So the weekend has started off great and so now we're home trying to decide decide what to do until we pick up Mom Allen from the airport tonight. We just looked up the flight info and the flight has already been delayed 55 minutes! So now she is estimated to arrive around 9:50 tonight.
The house is clean and tidy so now we just need to decide when to go to dinner and waste some time in the city. I think we might go get some sushi tonight! Our favorite place in Nashville is this dive called Ru San's and they have 500 different type of sushi items! So we'll see if we head that way or not.

So at my work there is this huge tract of land across from our office and it is a land trust that is protected from being commercialized or building anything on and since it is the beginning of Summer the people around are already getting the first round of hay together. And it is a awesome view with all the hay bails laying around the field. So I took 2 pictures today on my way home to try and capture the image for you all.

The scenery alone is a huge reason we love living in TN.

ok...we're off to eat dinner!!!!

and by the way the flight just got delayed another while longer...it'll be 10 before we pick Mom up. yup...another loooong night.

So Much Work

The title of the post is referring to owning a house. I feel like we work on the house so much...yet there is still so much more that we can do. So we just thought that we hadn't really shown pictures of our house to anyone but those who have actually visited. So here is a picture from the front of our home.

We have a great corner lot...the front yard extends a way to the right of the picture. So our garage and our drive way is over on the right side of the house too...the 2 windows on the right are in the garage. If you look closely you can see the dogs over there on the drive way looking at me wondering what I was doing across the street.

You can hardly see them...so here's a close up.

Well you can tell, or maybe not, I just finished mowing the front yard and if you look on the other side of the driveway you can see hay on the ground. Yes, I just got around to seeding my back yard so now I am waiting on it to grow in.

So far it is looking promising and I'm really excited about it's progress, however I'm not excited about our next months water bill.

Also we just painted a few walls in the house so now there is some color on the walls. We painted 2 walls in the living room and the foyer/entryway. Maybe our next series of posts should be on the inside of the house. Even though there's not much to it...the only room we spend times in are the living room and the library/media room/movie room. It's our favorite room and most everyone that comes over like the room too.

OK well there is the outside of our house. The inside of it coming soon...

Bicycle Race

Well today was my (Isaac) first day to go mountain biking on an actual mountain bike trail. Josh has had a mountain bike since living in TX and has been wanting to go out to some trails but i don't have a mountain bike, or a bicycle in general actually. So I borrowed one from a good friend of mine and Josh and I finally hit the trails this afternoon.

I had research that about 20 minutes from our house was a good trail that was great for all skill levels. Great! That means we wouldn't kill ourselves trying to be macho dare devils on the bicycles. Turns out those 8 miles just about did kill us. As I am sure my body will wake up sore tomorrow as my bottom already hurts to simply sit on a hard surface. Bicycle seats are not comfortable after 1/2 a mile or so...give or take.
But the trail was a lot of fun and it was an adrenaline rush at times going fast through the bending trail curving between the trees.

The other down side was that now that we have hit the warm seasons the bugs are out full force. So a few minutes into the trail I stopped to take a swig from my water bottle and noticed 6 ticks on my legs. Geez...every few minutes we would stop and inspect our legs for the nasty critters. Every time...at least 3 were found. Luckily they had not really grabbed a hold of our skin yet....they were all still searching for a spot so removing them was as easy as a flick of the finger. So to say the least, I was so paranoid the entire time on the trail as the grass, shrubs, and various leaves were whipping at my legs as we rode by. So I had to throughly inspect myself when I got home to be cautious about the dogs and keeping them safe from any ticks.
So it's been a long day.

Speaking of dogs...this is usually how Rupert sleeps when we are in the living room watching tv in the evenings.
I don't see how that could be comfortable...but he never fails to make us laugh by this awkwardly contorted sleeping positions. Blows my mind everytime.
