The men of our church had a golf scramble today at a local golf course. The goal was to invite some people folks who we don't know very well to play with us and fellowship with us while enjoying a good golf scramble. I had only played golf once before in my entire lifetime but I figured it would be time to get to know some men through fellowship, so I signed up.
Well the day starts with me getting up 3 hours earlier than I do for work...I was not too excited about that part. Then we get to the course and almost everyone goes to the driving range and start wailing on those poor golf balls...at this point I knew I was way out of my league. We were going to draw names for teams so I was hoping I would land a team that would not get mad at my lack of golf skills because everyone looked good by 7:30am. I on the other hand did not want to embarrass myself missing a swing at the range.
Lucky for me I landed a team where the other guys had not played in years...they still had a better game than me but we were all glad that we weren't good and were in the same boat together. The whole point of the scramble was to fellowship and have fun and that's just what we did! Plus I got to meet some cool guys that I might not have met if I had not of gone to the scramble.
The only thing left is to see what weird muscles I will wake up sore with because I don't swing a golf club on a regular basis. The mystery is already making me ache.

Are You Gonna Be my Girl[s]
Alright are you guys ready for this....my blog debut!!!! I know its been a long time coming and believe me when I say Ive just not known what to write about but then it occurred to me that I should just write about my life. Which right now is my girls. I guess I never really paid attention to how much your life can be impacted when you truly invest your life in the life of others. These two girls have touched a place in my heart that I didn't even know was there. Right now just thinking about them and trying to come up with the words to write my heart is smiling so big it hurts. Now don't get me wrong it hasn't been a cake walk but what relationship is? They are kids after all and they like to test your patience and jump up and down on your nerves.
This cutie pie is Annie and she is 5 years old and she is all girl. She would wear pink from head to toe everyday if she could and believe me there have been days when she has come very close to it. Her imagination is out of this world and she loves books which is where her imagination comes out. She can open a book and just by looking at the pictures she can tell you an amazing story. She is a very bright girl she loves school and learning. She will be the student who tells the teacher they forgot to assign homework.
And this...this is my baby! Her name is Olivia and she is 2. I have basically raised her since she was 6 months. She is the sweetest little girl so loving and caring. she calls me Maimy (adding an M to the begining and the middle sounds like 'aim') and says I'm her best friend which of course melts my heart. She like her sister loves books but rarely lets you read her one... she reads them to you(not really of course, she cant read but don't tell her that). She loves to play at the park on the swings and the slide. She loves to run and above all she loves animals...all animals. Show her a picture and she can tell you exactly what animal it is and what sound they make. Dogs, lions and elephants are her favorites.

Taking over the World
Hello all!
Well I know it's been awhile since we have posted something. Truth be told I, Isaac, have been the only one posting on the blog. So I have been trying to get Amy to post something. I think she has an idea for her first post and I'll try to get her to post it this week for sure!
So the title refers to Google. I have learned to much about it since I signed up for my gmail account a few months back now. Google has created so much stuff for one to use...it's insane! They have gotten ahold of blogger.com and so I can use my gmail account to sign in and edit this blog. I also use Picasa which is their picture software and web picture hosting site. I'll have to add a link to the sidebar so you all can see out web photo albums that I have uploaded. They also have a calender you can use with your account and upload it to any computer as well as their documents and spreadsheets. So instead of carrying around a disk, data CD, or memory stick you can upload your docs and spreadsheets from any computer with your gmail account. Then when you are in your inbox at gmail if any of your contacts have a gmail account you can use Google Talk to chat with them right there out of your inbox. Amazing...I think so! Not only that but they bought youtube.com not too long ago.
Anyway...I am directly supporting their taking over of the world. Pretty soon they will tell me what I am having for lunch and when to go to the bathroom. OK...maybe not...but you get the point.

Columbus, OH
Well I got back from my trip Sunday afternoon at about 3pm. And I was exhausted!
I mentioned in the previous post the worries I had about driving in some winter weather for our work trip to Ohio. Well the way up there was great however I was very cautious when going over bridges...and there were a lot of them.
The hardest part about being in Columbus this past weekend was the 'Artic Blast' that came over the area while we were there. Just great...a mexican and some freezing weather...not always a great combo. At one point on one of the evenings the temp was in the single digits, I believe it was 7, and the wind chill did not help one bit. With the wind chill it felt like -20 degrees outside and we had to walk to the convention center from our hotel. I almost lost my mind!
Saturday lunch time rolled and we had spotted a Chipotle a few blocks away while driving the night before. So I told my co-worker I would brave the cold walk for a hot delicious Chipotle burrito anytime. I took his order, bundled up, and headed out for a 3 block walk to get there and see a sign on the door saying they were closed. So I wasted time by taking a 6 block walk in 0 degree weather and have not so good fries for lunch from the convention center food court...blah!
Other than the 'Artic Blast' that we received we did have a good weekend. The best part was this awesome piece of cheesecake I got to devour on Thursday night.
