Take a Picture

Here we are in all of our glory!
We had taken this picture during the egg hunt and forgot to go check it out on the online photo album that the church had posted on the web. So here is probably our most recent picture together.

Well this weekend we have planned an Ultimate Frisbee game with all of our friends and Isaac's co-workers. The last time we had a Ultimate game a bunch of girls and 2 guys showed up...but it was still a lot of fun. So hopefully we'll have a bigger crowd this time. Amy took some marketing online tutorials on event planning. We'll see how good she does.
Only kidding.

40 Acres

Well the egg hunt could not have gone any better! Except that we could have used an extra 40 acres to lay out the thousands of eggs we had for the kids. Harvey park where the even was held is a brand new park in the city and it is not very big and does not have large tracts of land around it. But the turn out was really good and we just glad people came being that the temp this morning was at around 40 degrees.

You can see everyone bundled up in their winter clothing that I'm sure people had to dig out of the back of their closest for this weekend.
But check out all the people!

Needless to say we ran out of our hot drinks really fast.

I even got an action picture of Amy doing some face painting on some children.
I'm surprised her hand was still enough to paint on a child's face being as cold as it was.
Or maybe I'm more surprised that children let some people with shivering cold hands lean toward their faces with wet brushes.
And I had to take a picture of the lovely wife because she looked exceptionally beautiful today...yet some random dude had to ruin the pure awesomeness of the picture.
Yea it is our friend Adam...he's a cheese ball.

So even thought it was a chilly day we had a blast with the entire event.
Afterward a few of us went to the neighborhood Applebee's for some soup...
it was yummy and really warm.

How Deep The Father's Love

What a wonderful weekend it will be! Isn't it wonderful that the season in which the Resurrection happened is the most prettiest season of the entire year. Yes the Fall does have wonderful colors but those are the colors ending the external life of the plant life. In the Spring everything is in bloom! New life is happening all around us and that new life is full of wonderful colors.
What better way to celebrate this weekend of remembrance than surrounded by the beautiful colors of Spring. And yes we realize that it is not the Spring season all over the globe...but we are so glad it is here and that we have this season to help us remember the life that was given to us through the Son. Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy the lyrics to a beautiful song in remembrance of Him.

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power's, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

The April Fools

It is the end of the day. Today was the first day of April. And I did not realize that it was April 1st until tonight at some point. When the opportunity to try and fool anyone was too far gone. Dag!

Oh well, so since April is now upon I also missed my chance to post an entry before the end of March. Is it really April now? The first quarter of 2007 is gone? Geez time has really flown by!

Well Rupert is holding up pretty well with his bad haircut...he's had no problem going outside to face public humiliation. But on the other hand he has no choice.

In other news, our church contacted the city of Spring Hill (the town we actually live in) about doing face painting and helping out with the city wide Easter egg hunt they always devise the weekend of Easter. Turns out the city is not doing one for lack of shown interest by the city.
What?
So the church asked if we can organize it and carry out the egg hunt. They had no problem with it so now our church is doing the egg hunt for the city and we have certain sponsors. How crazy is that? So this is a great opportunity to get out there and meet new people in the community and be able to provide for them a family event.

So now we're having a cook-out with our community group at our house this week to eat, fellowship, and stuff all the eggs that people have bought for the egg hunt.

So if you happen to be in Spring Hill, TN on Saturday April 5th at 10am come by Harvey Park and join in on the festivities! (located on Main St.)

Devil's Haircut

We had not had the dogs of ours groomed in awhile and their hair was in really bad need of being cut. So We finally made an appointment for them to get their hair cuts today and all the other grooming needs they provide for the dogs.

From work I called Amy about 3pm and asked if they had called her to see if the dogs had been ready yet and she told me she already had them at the house. So I ask if they look OK. We had been skeptical of trying out a new place...which we ended up doing anyway. She tells me Bugsy looks fine...just really skinnier since they cut his hair off.
Not too bad...but yeah...he looks really skinny!

And then she said I would have to be the judge of Rupert's cut.
Geez...what you think if you were told that?
Well here's what I found when I got home...

Some kind of lion hair cut maybe...?
Oh my I could not keep from laughing at him. Well next time we will have to be really specific when we take him to the groomers office to get groomed. Given this is only the second time we have had to take him to the groomers but I guess we should had stuck with our initial groomer for Rupert. He's the one who has to live with this thing.
Poor little guy...I almost don't want to walk him so other dogs don't point and laugh at him
...or other people point and laugh at me. Ha!
But alas it will grow back and there is comfort in that.
I've been telling Rupert this all night.

Misty Mountain Hop

Sorry It has taken us over a week to post since our ski trip. We had a blast with the whole family! Salt Lake City is such a beautiful place and I hope everyone gets to go there at least once to see the majesty of the mountains there...winter or summer. We actually did not take many pictures on the mountain because we forgot our camera everyday but the very last day we were out there. So this first pics we took of ourselves on the ski lift. We held on to the camera so tight in fear that it would fall into the powder beneath us.

And we managed to get the pics taken. They are just a little too close up...so I made them small on here. Amy's glasses look massive and my neck has disappeared.
Lovely pictures these are!

Then here's some action shots from the mountains. They are on the easy slops so don't go thinking we are really good skiers...because we are far from being decent skiers. We rented Snow Blades instead of skis this year. They are a little over half the length of regular skis and have the feel of ice skating or roller blading on the snow. So much easier to control and keep your balance than skis. I also had read that when you hit powder the snow blades tend to "submarine or nose dive" into the snow. Actual quotes...so we made sure to stay clear of the powder...but Amy lost control and hit some powder and in the second picture she is actually taking my picture after having her snow blades did a nose dive into some powder.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Well...we depart tomorrow morning for Salt Lake City for our annual ski trip. We won't be back home till Wed. the 14th of next week. I don't know when we'll be able to check email, myspace, or much less post a blog. It almost feels like we're going back to the past of the information and technology age.
Trips like this make me wish we had a laptop.

OK see everyone on the other side!
